The Ogliastra sea: Boat trips

The Caffarena Residence offers (directly or involving outside professional skippers) various combinations of short and medium-range boat excursions as well as fishing trips, proposing different solutions suitable for unexperienced persons as far as expert fishermen, willing to try the big catch.
The family with children will find it pleasant to spend a different morning to the near Ogliastra Island (only 1,5 km away from the port of Arbatax). Also persons ready to spend all day at sea have the possibility to visit the cave of the doves, the inlets of Portu Pedrosu, Portu Cuau, to discover the under sea siphons inside the Fico Cave, to lay in the splendid beaches of Cala Goloritze, Cala Sisine and, most celebrated of all, Cala Luna.
A special offer is addressed to sport fishermen with the owner's boat, equipped with all necessary fishing gear for either deep-sea fishing or coastal trolling. The best fishing time coincides with the tourism lower season, so that it's easy to find a good cost combination of apartment- rent and fishing trips. The boat is 8 mt long (25 feet), equipped with two Volvo Penta inside diesel-engines of 190 hp each, assuring an average speed of over 18 knots. First class eco-sounder, autopilot,VHF radio, 2 GPS devices, all rods and artificial baits needed for the various trolling speeds are available for a safe and exciting day at sea.

On foot, by bicycle, on horseback, by car or bike you can discover itineraries and places that are not easily to be forgotten; from the muontains, following the course of subterranean rivers between woods, flowers, meeting wild animals, you reach the seaside crossing sets of incredible beauty.
Magic is the nature, a varying nature, up the hill to get to the mountains of Gennargentu, fulfilling your eyes with a varied landscape of rare beauty. A land that requires a careful look, curious, not corresponding to the gaze of the conventional tourist. Worthy of attention are also the historical and archaeological sites, with the presence of many Nuraghi, Domus de Janas, holy sources, Tombs of the Giants and Menhir.

Among the most exciting experiences that a diver can try along this stretch of sea, there is definitely a dive in the caves that open at the base of the Ogliastra coast, with submarin freshwater springs coming out of the supramonte and the Gennargentu. For simple exploration diving or underwater photography the beautiful grounds of Capo Bellavista, Isle of Ogliastra, red rocks, Punta Telis, Riu Mortu, Capo di Monte Santu, Cala Magroni, the Organ Cave, the wall of the blue shark, the wreck of Portu Cuau and Cala Luna are easily to reach. Looking for sea slugs, sea anemones and small fish and shrimp, you will find ideal models for wonderful and colorful macro.
